Yesterday, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center continued to combat malaria in the camps for the displaced in Ma’rib Governorate, in cooperation with the National Malaria Control Program at the Ministry of Health and the World Health Organization.

Over the course of six days, the center implemented the first phase of a campaign to distribute 284,115 bed nets, with the participation of 27 field teams in 170 camps and gatherings for the displaced in Marib, targeting 568,220 thousand beneficiaries.

The Undersecretary of Marib Governorate, Ali Al-Fatimi, stressed the importance of implementing this campaign in the displacement camps in the governorate to support efforts to combat malaria in those camps, by distributing mosquito nets to the displaced, which contributes to protecting them from many epidemics and mosquito-borne diseases.

This project comes within the framework of the emergency response implemented by the King Salman Relief Center to curb the outbreak and spread of the malaria epidemic in Yemen by distributing more than 400,000 mosquito nets to the displaced in a number of governorates.
