A delegation of Al Maktoum Foundation, presided by Mohammed Obaid bin Ghannam, the Secretary-General of the Foundation, and membership of Hamdan Hamed Mohammed, the Cultural Counselor, inspected the operations of harvesting wheat which is carried out for the second year in a raw, during their last visit to Sudan to check the different project of the Foundation. The harvest is implemented in coordination with Rawabi Emirates Co. in the State of Nile River. The yield amounted to 122 tons of high quality wheat, which was delivered to the Islamic Dawa Organization in Khartoum to be distributed to the needy entities enlisted in the table of assistances.
During the visit, the delegation met Professor Kamal Obaid, the Director-General of the International University of Africa, where they discussed the admission of the graduates of Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Schools in Africa. The Director-General of the University confirmed the ongoing accommodation of the graduates of Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid schools in the best colleges of the University.
Currently, the International University of Africa hosts more than 600 students from Somalia, Kenya, Mozambique, Rwanda, Comoros, and Uganda. It is expected to increase the number during the next academic year which will begin in August. This number of students confirms the strategic cooperation and partnership between Al Maktoum Foundation and the International University of Africa to spread science in the African Continent.
On the other hand, the delegation discussed with Professor Abdul Raheem Ali, the Secretary-General of the Islamic Dawa Organization the mutual cooperation between both parties in various humanitarian and relief fields. The delegation continued the visit to check the implementation of the remaining water projects in Sudan, where 7 stations for water in Kordofan and Darfur were dug, and the 3 other stations are under way and expected to finish soon.
