Aid to 32,000 families affected by floods in Malawi

The team of the Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation for Humanitarian Works distributed urgent food aid to 32,000 affected families in the outskirts of the Malay capital, Lilongwe, as part of the urgent food and medical aid project, which targets about 650,000 people affected by the torrential rains and floods that recently swept Malawi.

The aid comes within the framework of the directives of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces.

The Foundation coordinates its relief operations and focuses in the first phase on the most affected areas, noting that the Foundation’s team was able to reach the affected areas and distribute aid despite the obstacles represented in closing the flooded roads.
