Restoration of Water Facilities, Kenya

On 11 September 2019, the Society implemented a project to restore water and well facilities in Garissa, Kenya, in cooperation with the Kenya Red Cross to help those affected by drought.

The project aims to support more than 17,000 people in areas affected.

The project built two wells with a depth of 55 and 150 meters, respectively, and equipped them with solar-powered pumps.

The project also included the renewal of the water supply system Al-Qarashi by replacing the parts that were damaged by the floods in the pipelines.

The association donated to the project to provide sustainable sources of safe drinking water for the people in the region and neighboring areas trapped by recurrent natural disasters
