Two relief planes, representing the first pioneers of the Saudi relief air bridge to support the Afghan people, departed today from the King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Action, carrying 1,647 food baskets and 192 housing bags, weighing 65 tons and 746 kilograms.

His Excellency the Adviser at the Royal Court and General Supervisor of the King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Action, Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al-Rabiah, said in a press statement to the Saudi Press Agency that this aid comes in implementation of the directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and His Highness the Crown Prince – may God preserve them – to stand for On the side of the brothers in Afghanistan, and as an extension of the interest that the government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques attaches to humanitarian work and support the needy in all parts of the world, His Excellency indicated that the Saudi relief air bridge includes the operation of 6 relief planes that include food and shelter aid, weighing 197 tons and 238 kilograms.

His Excellency clarified that in addition to that, the Center secured foodstuffs weighing 1,920 tons, carried by 200 relief trucks, which will be launched via a land convoy from Pakistani territory, which will be distributed to the most needy families in Afghanistan.
