In addition to Eid al-Fitr which has passed in mid-May, the momentum of Eid al-Adha is a celebration of a big day for Muslims. Eid al-Adha, which in other mentions is the feast of sacrifice, has become a distinctive custom in Indonesia seen from the various activities of the community to welcome this holiday. Eid al-Adha for some people is an authentic spiritual journey, others interpret it as a social value that should be a spirit of sharing and strengthening fellow nation’s children.
The ritual procession in the slaughter of sacrificial animals that took place involved most of the people and brought benefits to them. One of them is the distribution of sacrificial meat with the aim of reaching all levels of local residents. In the Capital area and several other big cities, it is rife to see several areas of yards, community squares or mosque courtyards as gathering places for sacrificial animals that have been distributed by sacrificers. The number varies from dozens to dozens. The large number of sacrificial animals to be slaughtered indicates the amount of sacrificial meat that will be received by local residents.
In other corners of the country, the scenery above will rarely be seen or even not found at all. The momentum of Eid al-Adha became a holiday without celebration in several remote areas and throughout the country. The usual ritual is only to hold Eid prayers for Muslims, after which it is a normal daily activity. This is corroborated by data summarized by the Institute for Demographic and Poverty Studies (IDEAS) which shows that there is an uneven distribution of sacrificial animals collected in the main agglomeration area of Java Island and uneven distribution of sacrificial animals.
Based on the study conducted, the potential sacrifice in 2021 is projected at 3.04 million Muslim families with upper-middle class. 2 million of them live on the island of Java and 50% of that number are Muslim families residing in the Greater Jakarta area. When referring to distribution figures, several regions in Indonesia are included in the category of sacrificial deficits, especially those in remote areas, while the DKI Jakarta area and its surroundings are sacrificial surplus areas. No wonder the residents of DKI Jakarta and its surroundings can receive sacrificial meat in considerable quantities from several sources.
This gap is a dilemma and social challenge for many parties, including the Asia Muslim Charity Foundation (AMCF). As one of the social community institutions that focuses and is consistent in presenting a series of humanitarian programs to alleviate social problems in Eastern Indonesia and remote parts of the country, AMCF is also present with the 2021 Kurban Pelosok Negeri program as an effort to be part of the solution to the problem of the gap in the distribution of sacrificial animals. With the spirit of collaboration, AMCF invites the Indonesian people, especially those in the Jabodetabek area, to join and sacrifice with AMCF with the spirit of “spreading benefits, bringing kindness closer”.
The main objective of this program is to support the equitable distribution of sacrificial animals to several sacrificial deficit areas even to remote areas. For the implementation of qurban this year, AMCF targets the Pangabatang area, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) which is included in the category of sacrificial deficit areas and is faced with several social problems. As a commitment to present solutions to the problem of inequality, AMCF has a branch office that operates as a humanitarian unit in NTT which is equipped with competent human resources in the social and community fields and supported by a fleet of ship transportation that is able to penetrate remote and isolated areas. In addition to a series of humanitarian programs, social data and community testimonials on the benefits, this is the strength and excellence and responsibility of AMCF to ensure that the sacrifices that the community distributes through AMCF will be distributed appropriately to worthy and entitled beneficiaries. Let’s collaborate and invite your relatives, relatives and relatives to sacrifice with AMCF, spread benefits to remote areas and bring goodness and blessings closer to our heartstrings.
