3.3 million Ramadan meals and baskets inside and outside the country

For the tenth year in a row, the “Iftar fasting” project succeeded in distributing more than 3.3 million meals and food baskets to fasting people inside and outside the country..

An official source at the Khalifa Humanitarian Foundation praised the active role played by the partners, sponsors, coordinators and supervisors to reach the needy in their locations without the trouble of reaching a specific place to get Ramadan meals..

He pointed out that the sponsors are the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank, Emirates Islamic Bank, Al Ain Cooperative Society, Securities and Commodities Authority, Emirates Water Company, Al Baraka Foundation for Ramadan Iftar Management and Ready Meals Distribution, Manazel Company and Al Dahra Agricultural Company.

He thanked the strategic partners, namely, the General Administration of Civil Defense and Municipalities in all regions of the country, Emirates Transport, ADNOC Distribution, the Department of Emergency and Public Safety, Emirates Post and Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority.

On the external level, about one million fasting people have benefited from the Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation’s Humanitarian Program, distributed in more than 53 countries around the world. Marginalized regions and countries have received an important share of these distributions and meals..

The “Iftar fasting” project outside the country included nine Arab countries and 15 Asian countries: Pakistan, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Turkey, Sri Lanka and the Maldives, along with Indonesia, the Philippines, Seychelles, Vietnam, Thailand, Myanmar, Malaysia, Japan and Singapore.

Among the countries of the African continent, the project included 16 countries: Senegal, Sierra Leone, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Cape Verde, Gambia, South Africa, Kenya and Tanzania, in addition to Nigeria, Uganda, Mali, Togo, Rwanda, Burundi and Ethiopia.

Among the European countries are 10 countries: Spain, Switzerland, Sweden, Greece, Albania, Montenegro, Belarus, Serbia, Kosovo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, in addition to America, Colombia and Australia.
