DAR AL BER TARGETS 159,15 BENEFICIARIES OF QURBANI PROJECT

Dr. Mohammed Suhail Al Muhairi, CEO and Managing Director of Dar Al Ber Society, confirmed that the total number of beneficiaries targeted for this year’s Qurbani project, inside and outside the UAE, reaches 159,250 beneficiaries.

stressed that the Qurbani campaign is one of the most important legitimate charitable projects and vital humanitarian initiatives, launched annually by the Society and implemented with great interest during the “Adha Season”, which began with the inception of the Society 44 years ago without interruption, adding that the number of countries benefiting from the new version of the Qurbani project reached 15 countries, namely India, Uganda, Gambia, Somalia, Benin, Burkina Faso, Togo, Mali, Ghana, Niger. Egypt, Senegal, Malawi, and Nigeria In addition to implementing the project within the country in order to support low-income people.

Categories of participation
Dr. Al-Muhairi explained that the categories of the Qurbani project, which can be participated in by sacrificers this year, include slaughter and distribution outside the country, worth 350 dirhams, slaughter outside the country and distribution inside it, at a cost of 370 dirhams, and slaughter and distribution within the country, at a cost of 790 dirhams.

He pointed to the possibility of increasing the total number of sacrifices, targeted by the humanitarian charitable project, which depends on the size of donations from benefactors and donors to the project, stressing the importance of this project and its religious and humanitarian value, represented in alleviating the suffering of the poor and needy, by meeting their urgent needs of meat, especially in light of the spread of economic crises, and the rise in prices globally, especially with regard to foodstuffs, during the past stages.

Yousef Abdullah Al Yateem, Assistant CEO of the Zakat and Community Development Sector at Dar Al Ber, said that the association is implementing the project in coordination with the UAE embassies in the covered countries, and in cooperation with 19 partners in those countries, including associations, humanitarian institutions and accredited charitable organizations.
