His Excellency the Adviser at the Royal Court and General Supervisor of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center, Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al-Rabiah, explained that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has provided over the past few years more than 19.39 billion US dollars in humanitarian, relief, development and economic aid to the sisterly Republic of Yemen.

This came during the participation of His Excellency yesterday, via video conference, representing the Kingdom in the donors conference dedicated to the Republic of Yemen for the year 2022 AD, under the auspices of the United Nations, the Republic of Switzerland and the Kingdom of Sweden in Geneva, in the presence of the Secretary-General of the United Nations Antonio Guterres, President of the Swiss Confederation Ignazio Cassis, and the Swedish Minister of Foreign Affairs Anne Lindy, Assistant Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator Martin Griffiths, and the Kingdom’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations in Geneva, Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Wasel.

His Excellency extended the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s thanks and deep appreciation to the United Nations, the Republic of Switzerland and the Kingdom of Sweden for their keenness to organize the Yemen Donors Conference for the year 2022 AD, hoping to reach more sustainable solutions and a deeper impact; To raise the human suffering in Yemen and deal with its causes.

He added that we are meeting today and Yemen is facing a major humanitarian crisis, and its difficulty is further escalated by the Houthi coup militias’ major escalation in Yemen, and even exceeded that to escalate their terrorist act to threaten neighboring countries; This requires a firm and firm stance from the international community to protect the brotherly Yemeni people and reach sustainable solutions that achieve security, stability and development for Yemen and its people, the region and the world at large.

His Excellency said: “The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia appreciates the positive action of the Security Council by adopting Resolution 2624 (2022), which classifies the Houthi group as a “terrorist group” and lists the Houthis as an entity under the arms embargo, stressing the Kingdom’s keenness on the security and stability of Yemen and the region, and its commitment to support all efforts aimed at To reach a sustainable political solution according to the three references and to ensure the preservation of the unity and safety of Yemen and its brotherly people.
