No One Should Freeze This Winter

For many of us, winter is marked by gentle snowfall, roaring fires, fluffy blankets and warm clothes. Temperatures fall and roads become icy and wet, but we know that in our homes we are safe, warm and protected. However, for countless people around the world, winter is a battle for survival. Millions wonder if without adequate shelter, good food and warm clothing, they will survive the freezing months.

In the past few years, the coronavirus pandemic has made winter even more difficult around the world. Without adequate protection and food to remain healthy, people are at more risk than ever.

In the Middle East, millions of people are living in temporary refugee camps or homes. In Palestine and Lebanon, refugees have fled violence and conflict to seek security and safety.

However, winter is a crisis they cannot flee. Without winter clothing or items, they cannot seek refuge from the sub-zero temperatures, snow and freezing rain. Warm clothing, blankets and food will make the world of difference.

In Asia, the cold winter nights put those living in poverty at even greater risk. While Asia is known for its sunshine and warm temperatures, the winter months are devastatingly cold. Temperatures fall well below zero and parts of the continent face heavy snow and rain. For those living in poverty, winter is a huge struggle, and many could fall fatally ill. In winter across Asia, even a simple cold could cost them their lives. Jackets, socks, blankets, food and fuel could help them survive the brutal winter.

MUSLIM CHARITY INTERVENTION

Muslim Charity regularly supports needy families and communities during the challenging winter months. We have always strived to provide protection, safety and warmth to those most in need across Asia, the Middle East and in the UK.

In the last winter season Muslim Charity supported almost 12,000 people across six countries with nutritious food, warm clothing, heating and fuel. We provided winter aid to thousands of people in Bangladesh, Pakistan, Yemen, Lebanon, Gaza and right here at home in the UK.

With our Winter Emergency Appeal this year, Muslim Charity will be delivering vital winter items to help protect vulnerable communities against the brutal winter. With your support, we will be distributing warm clothing, shawls, socks, hats, blankets, mattresses, jackets, food, heaters and fuel. We know that this vital winter aid can truly save lives this winter, and through our emergency response, we seek to protect, support and keep warm.

Winter is a major struggle for vulnerable communities all over the world, including here at home in the UK. Winter is especially difficult for the homeless community in the UK who have no shelter, warm clothes or warm food.

We will be spreading warmth this winter in the UK too, by providing sleeping bags, mats, hygiene kits and warm food and drink.
